Litha Buhle Xaba

I am Litha Buhle Xaba — a young, ambitious, intelligent young lady who lives up to my name. Directly translated, I am a beautiful radiant light, who spreads my positivity and caring energy to everyone I meet.

I am a diligent Matric learner, turning 18 in the next month with aspirations to follow my heart and God-given talents into the hospitality/content creation and/or legal environment. I firmly believe in fair treatment for all, aiming to never make anyone feel uncomfortable. My extrovert personality, as well as my deeply enrooted love for family encourages me to make long-lasting friendships which start out with my ability to make friends with ease.

I play softball and netball at school, winning an outstanding netball achievement certificate this year. I play these sports with my closest friends, of which too many great memories have been made. Along with these close friends, we strive to give back to the community and advocate for those who have been silenced by power. This year along with my two friends, Gracia and Bonolo, we confronted the school regarding their ill-treatment towards people of colour, resulting in a magnificent change in the code of conduct and atmosphere within the school. Being around such driven young ladies creates a great magnitude of optimism for our future.

I have a great passion for cooking, exploring (a wanderlust that hasn't reached its full potential),  listening to music and enriching my mind through reading and watching informative movies. I am always open to trying out new activities and growing as a person.

Hi Frenemy. Long time. no see, actually it’s only been a month. I guess it's because whenever you’re here, I'm never ever ready or in the right mental place to have a conversation with you. So, here we go.

We’ve been friends for a while now, we’ve had a few downs, and very good highs. I love how I always have to pamper myself before your arrival and how I always get angry when you postpone and prepone your visits!

I remember when we first met, It wasn’t the actual first time I just started spotting and got so so excited only to find out that it is not the first time. The real first time was during hockey practice, I got this uncomfortable feeling but I just thought it was a stitch. Only to find out that I actually started my period. I was so excited because I was the late bloomer in the group. Oh boy was I in for a ride. So cramps have become part of my monthly routine because of you- thank you!

Oh! and you LOVE chocolate just like me. Our similarities are actually what makes us get along. You have always pushed me to be a better version of myself whether it’s through self love or just hard work and determination.

All in all, I think I love you Period. I know sometimes you just want me to lie on the floor and cry, and sometimes leave your mark on my seat or my clothes. But I am truly grateful for you, you remind me that all will be okay and that everything is perfectly fine. And I think everyone needs those monthly reminders.

Thank you for the happiness and sorry for the unpleasantness.

Yours truly

P.S. I think you owe me money for all those pads!
